DAMAGE ASSESSMENT OF THE ABULE-ADO GAS EXPLOSION
On Sunday, 15th of March 2020, an explosion occurred at about 8:45am in Abule Ado, Amuwo Odofin LGA of Lagos State, Nigeria. Lives were lost and properties worth millions of Naira were destroyed. Our team working in collaboration with Aerial Advantage Global, Carried out a robust damage assessment and mapping of the blast site. Estimating property loss to the tune of ₦ 6.7 BILLION Naira. The immediate blast radius has been calculated to be about 200m from the Point Zero [The origin of the Blast]. From the assessment, all of the structures with the high impact area suffered major damages with some completely obliterated
129 Structures within the High Impact Areas were completely damaged. The Bethlehem Girls School as well as other structures within a 50m radius were completely obliterated.
